April 5 "Knox County in World War I" by Dr. John Fowler

It was on April 6, 1917, that the United States officially entered World War I.
Dr. John Fowler will relate the experiences of Knox Countians, at home and abroad, who served a century ago in America's effort in the "war to end all wars."


May 3: "Cooper-Bessemer History: 165 Years of Engine and Compressor Innovation" by Norman Shade

This beautifully illustrated story of Mount Vernon's long-standing industry highlights many of the interesting people and their creative engineering that kept C-B at the top of their field throughout the 20th century.


June 7: The Knox County Historical Society 75th Anniversary Celebration

Plans are underway for the celebration of our "first 75 years," with highlights about people and events from years past and plans for the future. There will also likely be cake involved.

Mother Bickerdyke, as we celebrate her 200 birthday on July 19, 2017.
